Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Scanning, covering and exporting all happen on your device. PrivyMark works in Airplane Mode — try it.
The scan missed something. What do I do?
Long-press the line of text to explode it into word chips and cover exactly what you need, drag a box around any region, or use the Marker to paint over it freehand.
It covered something that isn't private.
Tap any cover on the canvas to toggle it off, or open the risk list to review every suggestion by type.
Can PrivyMark remove hidden watermarks?
It can detect and clear simple pixel-level (LSB) marks and strips all metadata on export. It cannot detect or remove robust forensic watermarks designed to survive edits — no tool honestly can.
Which languages does detection understand?
Detection rules cover English, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian. On iOS 26+ the system's document reader extends coverage further.
Why does export ask to delete the original?
Only if you choose “Share & Delete Original” or “Save (Overwrite Original)”. The safe default — “Save a Copy” — never touches your original photo.
